Teacher Reviews of School Visit
Mrs. Marcia Feltes, author and illustrator, came to our school and visited all grades. She read stories to the younger grades and explained to them how she became an author. I was privileged to be at her junior high talk with all of my students.
Mrs. Feltes was so engaging, from telling us what inspired her to write to explaining how to become an author ourselves. She even brought her inspiration, her granddaughter, Adi. It was clear to her audience that having that inspiration drove her to become the writer and illustrator that she now is.
The 6th-8th graders asked all sorts of questions and learned so much from Marcia regarding her books and the publishing process. She did an interactive reading with our students who became the characters of one of her books and dramatized the scenes by making funny voices, etc. It was a fun idea, and the students really enjoyed it.
Here are some words from our students:
“I think it’s cool how she can illustrate better than some professionals.”
“It taught me to be persistent.”
“It was intriguing to learn how to use platforms that are out there available to us.”
“It was great having Mrs. Feltes back in our school!”
Having Mrs. Feltes as our former technology teacher and now seeing her thrive as a published author brings so much joy to the students and staff of St. Mary. We thank her for coming to visit us and would recommend that she visit other students and share her inspiring story!
Thank you, Mrs. Feltes; we love you!

Addi Stories are charming stories about family adventures that children can relate to in many ways. They include a great variety of experiences for the children to explore! They make a nice addition to our math and reading curriculum to introduce concepts such as colors, shapes, the alphabet and even learning about different careers. The books are engaging to young children through colorful illustrations and relatable text. They are a great addition to any early childhood classroom.
